Betaloc 25 Tablet 20 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure

• Preventing and treating chest pain (angina)

• Regulating abnormal heart rhythms

• Improving heart failure symptoms

• Preventing migraine headaches

• Relieving symptoms of overactive thyroid

• Decreasing heart's workload during stress

• Stabilising electrical activity of heart muscles

• Improving blood flow to heart tissues

Follow these instructions while taking Betaloc 25 Tablet 20:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly even if you feel well.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Betaloc 25 Tablet 20 is taken orally.

Betaloc 25 Tablet 20 contains metoprolol tartrate (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Beta-1 receptor blockade: Metoprolol selectively blocks beta-1 receptors in the heart, preventing stress hormones like adrenaline from binding to these receptors.

• Heart rate reduction: By blocking these receptors, the medicine slows down your heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions, decreasing the workload on your heart.

• Blood pressure lowering: It reduces the constriction of blood vessels caused by adrenaline, allowing for improved blood flow and lower blood pressure.

• Renin suppression: The medicine suppresses the release of renin from your kidneys, which helps lower blood pressure over the long term.

• Electrical stabilisation: It stabilises the electrical activity of heart muscle cells, helping to maintain a regular heart rhythm.

• Store Betaloc 25 Tablet 20 at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep away from direct heat, light and moisture.

• Store out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date and do not use after this date.

• Reduce salt intake: Lowering the amount of salt in your diet helps manage high blood pressure (hypertension), which complements how Betaloc 25 Tablet 20 works to control your blood pressure.

• Regular moderate exercise: Activities like brisk walking for 30 minutes most days can strengthen your heart and improve circulation, helping to manage both high blood pressure and angina symptoms.
