Seloken XL 50 mg Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, to prevent chest pain (angina), to control certain irregular heart rhythms, and to improve survival after a heart attack. It is also used to help prevent migraines.
It contains metoprolol succinate, a selective beta-blocker, in an extended-release form that provides around-the-clock control. Take it as prescribed, ideally at the same time each day. Do not stop it suddenly, as beta-blockers must be reduced gradually under medical guidance.
Lifestyle measures support heart and blood pressure health alongside this medicine. These include cutting down on salt, eating a balanced diet, staying active within your limits, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any asthma or breathing problems, a slow heart rate, diabetes, or severe circulation problems. It can mask the signs of low blood sugar in diabetes. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
