Tafnat Tablet 30

Tafnat Tablet 30 is used for the following:

• Treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection

• Management of compensated liver disease

• Control of HBV viral replication

• Improvement of liver health in HBV patients

• Reduction of HBV symptoms

• Prevention of hepatitis B progression

• Treatment of HIV-1 infection with other medicines

• Management of HIV-HBV coinfection

Follow these instructions while taking Tafnat Tablet 30:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine regularly at the same time each day.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Tafnat Tablet 30 is taken orally.

Tafnat Tablet 30 contains tenofovir alafenamide (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Prodrug conversion: Tenofovir alafenamide is a prodrug that transforms into tenofovir diphosphate (TFV-DP) once inside the cells, which is the active form that fights the virus.

• Viral polymerase inhibition: It inhibits the viral polymerase enzyme by competing with natural substances needed for viral DNA creation, effectively preventing the virus from multiplying.

• DNA chain termination: After being incorporated into viral DNA, it causes DNA chain termination, which stops the formation of new viruses in your body.

• Viral replication prevention: By blocking key steps in the virus life cycle, it prevents hepatitis B virus from making copies of itself, reducing the amount of virus in your body.

Follow these instructions while storing Tafnat Tablet 30:

• Store Tafnat Tablet 30 in its original container at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep the medicine in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure the container remains tightly closed when not in use.

• Keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Maintain a liver-friendly diet by avoiding alcohol and limiting foods high in fat, which can put extra strain on your liver while managing hepatitis B infection.

• Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, which helps support liver function and may reduce some side effects like headaches while taking Tafnat Tablet 30.
