Xtane Tablet 30

Xtane Tablet 30 is used to treat early-stage breast cancer.

Uses of Xtane Tablet 30 are:

• Early-Stage Breast Cancer: Treats early-stage hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
• Advanced Breast Cancer: Manages advanced breast cancer and helps prevent recurrence.

Follow these instructions while taking Xtane Tablet 30:

• Take the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine after a meal to improve absorption.

• Swallow the tablet without crushing, breaking or chewing it.

• Try to take this medicine at the same time each day.

Xtane Tablet 30 is taken orally.

Xtane Tablet 30 contains exemestane (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Aromatase enzyme inhibition: Exemestane irreversibly binds to the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for converting androgens (male hormones) into oestrogens (female hormones) in peripheral tissues of the body.

• Oestrogen reduction: By blocking the aromatase enzyme, exemestane dramatically reduces the amount of oestrogen circulating in the bloodstream of postmenopausal women.

• Cancer cell growth prevention: Many breast cancers depend on oestrogen to grow and multiply. By lowering oestrogen levels, exemestane effectively slows or stops the growth of hormone-sensitive tumours.

• Irreversible binding action: Unlike some other medicines that temporarily block enzymes, exemestane permanently attaches to the aromatase enzyme, making its action more complete and long-lasting.

• Store Xtane Tablet 30 at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging to protect from environmental factors.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Include foods rich in calcium and vitamin D (such as dairy products, leafy greens, and fatty fish) in your daily diet to help maintain bone health, as exemestane therapy may affect bone density in postmenopausal women.

• Consider regular weight-bearing exercise like walking or gentle resistance training to support bone strength and help manage some side effects of hormone therapy for breast cancer.
