Telma-Beta 50 Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It helps lower blood pressure, which reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in people whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by a single medicine.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker that relaxes the blood vessels, and metoprolol succinate, a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces the force of each heartbeat. Take it as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as this may cause blood pressure to rise and could be dangerous, particularly if you have underlying heart disease.
Dietary and lifestyle measures are an important part of managing high blood pressure. These include reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, diabetes, liver or kidney problems, or a history of heart rhythm disorders. Inform your doctor of all medicines you are taking, as metoprolol can interact with several other medicines. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Regular blood pressure monitoring is advised during treatment.
