Macsart Beta 50 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is also prescribed for managing long-term chest pain (angina pectoris) and stable chronic heart failure to help reduce the risk of major heart-related events.
It contains telmisartan and metoprolol succinate, combining an angiotensin II receptor blocker with a beta-blocker. Take it as prescribed, with or after food, at the same time each day. It is vital to continue taking this medicine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor, as abrupt withdrawal can cause a sharp rise in blood pressure or chest pain.
Lifestyle measures support blood pressure control alongside medicine. These include maintaining a low-salt diet, managing weight, engaging in light physical activity, and avoiding smoking and alcohol.
Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have heart block, severe liver or kidney disease, asthma, diabetes, or thyroid disorders. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive, as ARB medicines are not suitable during pregnancy.
