Macsart Beta 50 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure

• Preventing serious cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes

• Long-term management of angina pectoris, reducing the frequency of angina attacks and improving exercise tolerance

• Treating stable, symptomatic heart failure of ischemic, hypertensive, or cardiomyopathic origin

• Reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes in patients 55 years of age or older who are at high risk of developing major cardiovascular events and can't take ACE inhibitors

Here's how you should take Macsart Beta 50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• In case you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's close to your next dose time, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule.

• Remember not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Macsart Beta 50 Tablet is taken orally.

Macsart Beta 50 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in various tissues, including vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. This leads to the widening of blood vessels (vasodilation), reduced secretion of vasopressin (a hormone that regulates water balance), and decreased production of aldosterone (a hormone that regulates sodium and potassium balance). Consequently, your blood pressure decreases.

• Metoprolol Succinate (50 mg): A selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, this ingredient works by slowing down your heart rate and lessening the force with which your heart muscle contracts. This action decreases your blood pressure. It also reduces the oxygen demand of your heart, making it useful in managing angina pectoris and heart failure.

• Store Macsart Beta 50 Tablet at room temperature.

• Find a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for its storage.

• Keep this medicine out of reach and sight of children.
