Telma 20 Tablet contains telmisartan (20 mg) which has specific actions on your body:

• Blocks Angiotensin II Receptors: Telmisartan specifically binds to what's called the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1 receptor) in your body. These receptors cause constriction or narrowing of your blood vessels and increase the production of a hormone called aldosterone that can elevate blood pressure.
• Reduces Blood Pressure: By blocking these receptors, telmisartan stops angiotensin II from performing its functions causing blood vessels to narrow and stimulating aldosterone production. This results in dilated or relaxed blood vessels and decreased aldosterone secretion.
• Decreases Heart Workload: With more relaxed blood vessels and less aldosterone, there's less resistance for your heart to pump against and less fluid to pump out, respectively. This means your heart doesn't have to work as hard, which can reduce the risk of heart-related issues.
