CompositionTelma 20 Tablet is used to control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and to help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people at high cardiovascular risk. Keeping blood pressure within a healthy range also helps protect the heart and blood vessels over time.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes and widens the blood vessels. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, at the same time each day, and keep taking it even when you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol intake all support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems, raised potassium levels or pregnancy before starting, and about other medicines you take. It should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Report marked dizziness or muscle weakness promptly.
