Ranraft Oral Suspension contains three active ingredients:

• Calcium Carbonate (80 mg): As an antacid, calcium carbonate neutralises excess stomach acid by reacting with it to form calcium chloride, carbon dioxide and water. This reaction reduces stomach acidity and helps alleviate heartburn.

• Sodium Alginate (250 mg): This ingredient forms a viscous gel when it comes in contact with stomach acid. This gel floats on top of the stomach contents, creating a 'raft' that acts as a barrier to prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the oesophagus, thus reducing symptoms of acid reflux.

• Sodium Bicarbonate (133.5 mg): Sodium bicarbonate acts as another antacid and reacts with stomach acid to form sodium chloride, carbon dioxide and water. The produced CO2 increases the buoyancy of the alginate gel, enhancing its ability to prevent reflux.
