MYCOSAN M 500 MG TABLET 10 is used, together with other medicines, to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted organ such as the kidney, heart or liver.
It contains mycophenolate mofetil, an immunosuppressant (antimetabolite). Take it on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after food, at the same time each day, and continue taking it for as long as prescribed, even if you feel well.
Avoiding contact with people who have infections, practising good hygiene, and using sun protection are important, as this medicine increases the risk of infections and certain skin cancers.
Tell your doctor about any stomach or bowel problems before starting. Effective contraception is needed during treatment and for 6 weeks after stopping treatment in women and for at least 90 days after stopping treatment in men, as this medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby. Report fever, sore throat, or unusual bleeding or bruising immediately, as these may indicate a drop in blood cell counts.
