Mycofit 500 Tablet is used to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney, heart, or liver. It contains mycophenolate mofetil, an immunosuppressant that works by lowering the activity of the immune system so it does not attack the new organ.
It is also used, together with other immunosuppressants such as corticosteroids or ciclosporin, to manage severe active and persistent lupus nephritis, severe active rheumatoid arthritis, and difficult-to-treat Crohn's disease. Take it exactly as prescribed and do not stop or change the dose on your own, as this can increase the risk of organ rejection or worsening of your underlying condition.
Practise good hygiene and avoid close contact with people who have infections, as this medicine lowers your body's ability to fight infection. Your doctor will monitor your blood counts regularly while you are on this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any stomach or bowel problems, kidney disease, or are taking other medicines. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy. Report any fever, unusual bruising, or signs of infection to your doctor immediately.
