Kofarest LS Junior Syrup is a medicine used to treat productive cough and chest congestion in children caused by asthma, bronchitis, or other respiratory infections. It helps clear the lungs by thinning thick mucus and widening the airways, making it easier for your child to cough it out and breathe more comfortably.
It contains ambroxol, levosalbutamol, and guaifenesin. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins mucus, guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps clear it, and levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles to ease breathing. Give the syrup using the measuring cup provided, with or without food, as prescribed by your child's doctor.
Keeping your child well hydrated helps loosen mucus further and supports recovery. A warm, steamy environment and plenty of rest can also help ease chest congestion alongside the syrup.
Before giving this medicine, tell your child's doctor if your child has any heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid disorder. Contact your child's doctor if the cough is accompanied by high fever, or if symptoms do not improve after a few days of treatment.
