Metoz 2.5 Tablet is used to manage fluid retention (edema) in conditions like congestive heart failure and kidney disorders (nephrotic syndrome). It helps the body eliminate excess salt and water, regulating blood pressure and reducing swelling, while easing cardiovascular strain.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid chewing or crushing the tablet.

• It's best to take it in the morning to reduce nighttime urination.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly; instead, speak with your doctor first.

Metoz 2.5 Tablet is taken orally.

Metoz 2.5 Tablet contains metolazone (4 mg). It acts on the body in the following ways

• Increases Sodium and Water Excretion: Metolazone increases the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water by acting on your kidneys. It works by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of your kidneys.

• Diuresis: The inhibition of sodium reabsorption leads to an increased urine output, a process known as diuresis. This helps in reducing excess fluid volume in your body, thereby decreasing edema and lowering blood pressure.

• Potassium and Magnesium Excretion: Apart from sodium and water, metolazone also promotes the excretion of potassium and magnesium from your body.

• Store Metoz 2.5 Tablet in a cool and dry place.

• Maintain an ideal storage temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine protected from light.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Maintain a low-sodium diet. This can help manage fluid retention and high blood pressure, the conditions for which Metoz 2.5 Tablet is often prescribed.

• Regularly monitor your body weight. Sudden weight gain could be a sign of fluid retention, indicating that the medicine needs adjustment.
