Macbery Junior Expectorant 60ml

Macbery Junior Expectorant is used to treat cough with mucus in children. It helps thin and loosen mucus, making it easier to clear from the airways. The syrup relieves chest congestion, wheezing, and improves breathing in respiratory conditions involving thick or tenacious mucus.

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Take Macbery Junior Expectorant with lukewarm water for the best results.
• Use the provided measuring cup or dropper to measure the correct dose of the syrup.
• Take the syrup daily, preferably with a meal, to aid absorption.

Macbery Junior Expectorant should be administered orally.

This medicine is a combination of three components and they function in the below specified manner:

• Ambroxol: It is an expectorant that helps to thin and loosen mucus in the lungs. When there is too much Nitric oxide (NO) in the airways, it can cause inflammation and make breathing difficult. Ambroxol works by blocking the effects of NO, which helps to reduce the production of excessive mucus, makes phlegm less sticky, and improves the flow of mucus in the lungs.
• Levosalbutamol: This ingredient is a bronchodilator, which helps relax and widen the muscles in the airways. Levosalbutamol works to relax the airways regardless of the trigger, protecting the narrowing of the airways. When a specific type of receptor called β2 adrenergic receptors on the muscles of the airways is activated, it triggers a series of reactions inside the cells. It leads to an increase in a compound called cyclic AMP, which causes the muscles to relax. Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles in all parts of the airways. It also helps to prevent the release of certain substances from cells in the airways.
• Guaifenesin: It is an expectorant that helps to increase the volume and reduce the viscosity of respiratory secretions. Guaifenesin irritates certain receptors in the stomach, which triggers reflexes that cause the glands to produce a thinner and less sticky mucus. As a result, the thicker mucus blocking the small airways may be flushed out, temporarily improving breathing difficulties and shortness of breath.

• Ensure the child drinks adequate water throughout the day to maintain hydration.
• Identify and avoid specific foods that may trigger or worsen respiratory symptoms in your child. Common triggers include dairy products, caffeine, and processed foods.
• Keep the child's environment clean and free from dust, allergens, and irritants.
• Regularly dust and vacuum the house and ensure good ventilation.
• Avoid exposure to smoke, strong odours, and pollutants.
• Choose activities suitable for your child's age and condition, such as swimming or cycling.
• Teach your child proper hand hygiene, including regular handwashing with soap and water. It helps reduce the risk of respiratory infections.

• Children with unmanageable diabetes mellitus should be given this medication only after a doctor's consultation.
• Do not share Macbery Junior Expectorant with any other child, even if they have similar symptoms to your child.
• Record the child's dosage and the time of each dose for effective treatment.
