Macbery PD Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat and manage productive cough (cough with mucus) in children. It helps clear sticky mucus from the airways and relieves breathing difficulties associated with pediatric respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and airway inflammation.
This medicine contains three active ingredients: levosalbutamol, ambroxol hydrochloride, and guaifenesin. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways to widen them, ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that thins and breaks down thick phlegm, and guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases airway fluid to ease mucus removal. Administer this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor.
To support your child's recovery, ensure they drink plenty of warm fluids like water, clear soups, or warm broth throughout the day. Keeping the child well-hydrated helps thin the mucus faster, making it easier to cough out, while using a humidifier can keep the respiratory passages moist and comfortable.
Before giving this medicine, tell your doctor if your child has a history of heart problems, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, or muscle disorders. Inform them about all other medications the child is currently taking. This syrup should be given using a proper measuring device, and do not exceed the recommended dose.
