Metoz 5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and fluid retention (oedema) linked to heart, kidney or liver conditions. It contains metolazone, a thiazide-like diuretic that helps the body remove excess salt and water.
Take it as prescribed, with or without food. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as it helps keep fluid levels and blood pressure controlled, and do not stop it without your doctor's advice.
Reducing salt intake, weighing yourself regularly to check for fluid changes, and keeping to a low-fluid diet if advised by your doctor support treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, or diabetes before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report muscle cramps, weakness, an irregular heartbeat, or unusual thirst, as these may be signs of a change in your body salts. Regular blood tests may be needed to monitor your kidney function and electrolytes.
