• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew or crush the tablet.

• If you have been using immediate-release metformin, you can switch to Glimiprex MF 2/500 Tablet at the same daily dose of metformin, up to 2000 mg.

Glimiprex MF 2/500 Tablet consists of two active ingredients:

• Metformin (500 mg): Metformin falls under the biguanide class of medicines that function by reducing hepatic glucose production and decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose. It also improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation. This dual-action helps to further control blood sugar levels.
• Glimepiride (2 mg): As a sulfonylurea, glimepiride stimulates insulin release from functioning pancreatic beta cells. It does this by binding to specific receptors on these cells which leads to an increase in insulin secretion. This helps lower blood sugar levels.
