CompositionBlocpro 5 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent chest pain (angina). It is a single-ingredient medicine containing bisoprolol 5mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called cardioselective beta blockers.
This medicine is also used, at carefully increased doses, to treat stable long-term heart failure together with other medicines. It slows the heart rate and reduces the heart's workload. Take it once a day, usually in the morning, with or without food, as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well.
Cutting down on salt, staying active within your limits, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking support heart health.
Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can cause chest pain, a fast heartbeat or a heart attack; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma or other breathing problems, a very slow heartbeat or heart block, uncontrolled heart failure, severe circulation problems, psoriasis, diabetes or thyroid problems, and about other medicines you take. It can hide the warning signs of low blood sugar. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for wheezing, a very slow heartbeat, fainting or worsening breathlessness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
