Bisonext 5 Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina (chest pain). It contains Bisoprolol, a highly selective beta-1 blocker that works by slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of heart muscle contractions. This decreases the heart's oxygen demand and lowers blood pressure, providing long-term protection against heart failure and myocardial infarction.

By stabilizing the heart's workload, the medication helps patients with angina exercise more comfortably and reduces the frequency of chest pain episodes. It is important not to discontinue this medication abruptly, as this can lead to a sudden rebound in blood pressure. Inform your doctor if you have asthma or slow heart rate (bradycardia) before starting this therapy.

Bisonext 5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (chest pain). By lowering the heart rate and reducing the heart's workload, it improves blood circulation throughout the body. Consistent use helps stabilize blood pressure and lowers the long-term risk of heart-related complications.

Take the tablet with one whole glass of water.
Swallow the tablet as a whole, do not crush or chew it.
Take the tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication.

Bisonext 5 Tablet should be taken orally.

Bisonext 5 Tablet may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle aches, along with mild weakness or reduced physical stamina in some patients. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Managing the Side Effects:

Most of the side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing Bisonext 5 Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Bisonext 5 Tablet contains the following component:

Bisoprolol fumarate (5 mg): It is a beta blocker that works by selectively blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, which decreases the heart rate, the force of contraction, and oxygen consumption by the heart. By reducing the workload on the heart, bisoprolol helps improve heart failure symptoms, including shortness of breath, fatigue, and swelling in the feet and legs. Additionally, it can also be used to manage high blood pressure by reducing the force with which the heart pumps blood, which in turn lowers the blood pressure. Bisoprolol also helps to reduce the risk of further cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes, in people who have already had a heart attack. It does this by decreasing the workload on the heart and improving blood flow to the heart muscle.

Pregnancy

Bisonext 5 Tablet is not recommended during the pregnancy.

Breastfeeding

Bisonext 5 Tablet is not recommended during the breastfeeding.

Alcohol

It is advised not to take alcohol while taking Bisonext 5 Tablet as it can cause dizziness or other adverse effects.

Liver

Bisonext 5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. In case of patients suffering from severe diseases, dose adjustment is required.

Kidney

Bisonext 5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases. In case of patients suffering from kidney diseases, dose adjustment is required.

Using Machines & Driving

Use of Bisonext 5 Tablet may lead to dizziness as a side effect. Refrain from driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness after taking this tablet.

Allergy

If you are allergic to bisoprolol, do not use this medicine. Read the label carefully before using this medication.

Children

Bisonext 5 Tablet is not recommended in children.

Older Patients

Dosage adjustment may not be required for older patients. It is recommended to start the dose with a low dosage. Consult your doctor if the low dose does not give the desired effect.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Bisonext 5 Tablet can interact with medications, including:

Other antihypertensives such as amiodarone, and amlodipine, when taken along with this tablet, may lead to increase in side effects.
Antidepressants like imipramine, amitryptiline, and moclobemide, when taken along with this tablet can increase the plasma concentration of bisoprolol.
Mental illnesses medications like levomepromazine, when taken along with this tablet, can increase the risk of hypotension.
Antiepileptic medications like phenobarbital, when taken along with this tablet, can increase the metabolism of bisoprolol.
Medicines to treat medical shocks like adrenaline, dobutamine, and noradrenaline, when taken along with this tablet, can affect the functioning of these medications.
Malaria medicines like mefloquine, when taken along with this tablet, can increase the levels of bisoprolol.
Anti-infectives like rifampicin, when taken along with this tablet, can increase the metabolism of bisoprolol.
Headache and migraine medications like ergotamine derivatives, when taken along with this tablet, can decrease the metabolism of bisoprolol.
Painkillers such as diclofenac, when taken along with this tablet, can increase the levels of serum potassium in the body.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Bisonext 5 Tablet can interact with disease/conditions including

Severe asthma or severe chronic lung disease: This tablet can aggravate the symptoms in this condition.
Slow or irregular heartbeats: This tablet can further slow the heartbeat.
Severe blood circulation problems: This tablet can cause a tingle sensation at the end of fingers or change in colour to pale or blue.
Heart failure: This tablet is not recommended when heart failure becomes worse suddenly or hosptialization is required.
Metabolic acidosis: This tablet can exacerbate this condition.
Phaeochromocytoma: Taking this tablet in this condition can lead to hypetensive crisis or pulmonary edema.

Daily Dose

The recommended daily dose of Bisonext 5 Tablet should be strictly followed as per the doctor's prescription. The dosage may change depending on individual factors such as age, severity of pain, and response to the treatment.

Over Dose

If by accident you take an excessive dosage of Bisonext 5 Tablet, get immediate medical attention from your doctor in case you experience any side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take the dose of Bisonext 5 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, avoid repeating the dose.

Bisonext 5 Tablet tablet should be stored below 30°Celsius.
Keep this medicine away from children’s reach.
Do not use this medicine once the expiry date has passed.
Protect the medicine from excessive light and moisture.

Regular physical activity or exercise benefits heart health.
Opt for a diet rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products to support heart health.
Limit your daily intake of sodium chloride (table salt) to maintain healthy blood pressure.
The most effective way to reduce the risk of heart disease is to quit smoking.
Chronic stress can elevate blood pressure. Engage in activities you love, spend time with family, and practice mindfulness techniques to cope with stress.
Incorporate foods rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids into your daily diet. Additionally, use low-fat cooking oils like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and coconut oil.
