Azovas 8 Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of high blood pressure
• Management of essential hypertension
• Prevention of cardiovascular complications
• Reduction of arterial stiffness
• Protection of organs from high blood pressure damage
• Control of isolated systolic hypertension
• Management of resistant hypertension
• Lowering the risk of stroke in hypertensive patients
• Prevention of kidney damage from hypertension
• Slowing the progression of hypertension-related heart disease

Follow these instructions while taking Azovas 8 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• You can take this medicine with or without food.
• Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your body.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• Continue taking this medicine regularly, even if you feel well.
• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

This tablet is taken orally.

Azovas 8 Tablet contains azelnidipine (8 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Calcium channel blocking: Azelnidipine blocks the calcium channels (tiny pathways) in the muscle cells of your heart and blood vessels, preventing calcium from entering these cells. This action helps relax and widen your blood vessels.
• Blood vessel dilation: By relaxing the smooth muscles in your blood vessel walls, azelnidipine causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). This widening reduces resistance to blood flow, helping lower your blood pressure.
• Long-acting effect: Azelnidipine has a gradual onset and prolonged duration of action, providing stable blood pressure control throughout the day.
• Heart protection: This medicine reduces the workload on your heart by decreasing peripheral resistance (the resistance to blood flow in your blood vessels), which helps protect your heart from strain.

• Store this tablet in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Store it in its original packaging until ready to use.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not use it after the expiration date printed on the package.
• Dispose of unused medicine properly as advised by your pharmacist.

• Reduce salt intake in your diet, as high sodium can worsen high blood pressure, which azelnidipine helps manage. Try flavouring food with herbs and spices instead.
