CompositionARNISAC 50 Tablet is used to treat chronic heart failure in adults whose heart muscle is weakened and cannot pump enough blood. It is a combination medicine containing sacubitril and valsartan, and belongs to a class of medicines called ARNIs (angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors).
This medicine helps improve heart function, ease symptoms such as breathlessness and tiredness, and reduce the risk of hospital admission, by increasing levels of natural substances that help the body remove excess salt and water and relax blood vessels, while blocking a hormone that narrows them. Take this tablet with or without food, and your doctor will usually start you on a low dose and increase it gradually. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Following a low-salt diet, limiting fluids if your doctor advises it, and staying active within your limits support your heart alongside this medicine.
Do not take this medicine together with an ACE inhibitor, and leave a gap of at least 36 hours if switching between them, due to a risk of serious swelling (angioedema). Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Have your blood pressure and blood potassium checked periodically, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
