CompositionAmlokind 5 Tablet 15 is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to relieve and prevent chest pain (angina). Keeping blood pressure under control and improving blood flow to the heart helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels so blood can flow more easily and the heart does not have to work as hard. Take it as prescribed, at the same time each day. Continue taking it even if you feel well, and do not stop it without medical advice.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney, or heart problems, other medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mild swelling of the ankles, flushing, or headache can occur, especially at first, and usually settles. Tell your doctor if ankle swelling becomes troublesome.
