Telmikind-20 Tablet is prescribed for managing high blood pressure (hypertension). The active ingredient, Telmisartan, is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB) that works by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and significantly reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney damage. It’s also recommended for adults aged 55+ who are at high cardiovascular risk to prevent major health events.

To take Telmikind-20 Tablet, kindly follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing it.
• The tablet can be taken with or without food according to your preference.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• If you feel like stopping the medicine due to any reasons, talk to your doctor first.

Telmikind-20 Tablet is taken orally.

Telmikind-20 Tablet contains telmisartan (20 mg), which works on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Blocks Angiotensin II Receptors: Telmisartan specifically blocks angiotensin II from binding to its receptors found in smooth muscles and adrenal glands. Angiotensin II is a substance in your body that causes your blood vessels to narrow and release a hormone known as aldosterone.
• Reduces Blood Pressure: By blocking angiotensin II, telmisartan prevents the narrowing of your blood vessels, thereby reducing peripheral resistance and lowering your blood pressure.
• Decreases Aldosterone Secretion: Telmisartan's action on the AT1 receptors also results in less secretion of aldosterone, a hormone that can increase blood pressure. By reducing aldosterone secretion, telmisartan further contributes towards lowering blood pressure.

• Store Telmikind-20 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 30°C.
• Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct light or moisture.
• Ensure to keep Telmikind-20 Tablet out of the reach and sight of children.
• Always check the expiry date on the pack before using the Tablet.

• As this medicine helps manage hypertension, try to limit your salt intake. Consuming less salt can assist in maintaining a healthier blood pressure level.
• Regular physical activity can contribute to lowering blood pressure. Aim to engage in moderateintensity exercises like brisk walking or cycling for at least 150 minutes per week.
