Telmikind-AM Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure. It contains two medicines, Telmisartan and Amlodipine, that help relax the blood vessels and lower blood pressure, which can reduce the risk of heart problems like heart attacks and strokes.

Follow these instructions while taking Telmikind-AM Tablet:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor.
Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor first.
Remember not to remove the tablet from its strip until immediately before usage.

Telmikind-AM Tablet is taken orally.

While taking Telmikind-AM Tablet, you may experience the following side effects:

Peripheral oedema (swelling in your lower legs, feet or hands due to fluid build-up)
Upper respiratory tract infection (including sore or scratchy throat, sneezing, and a runny nose)
Back pain
Dizziness
Headache
Diarrhoea

Managing the Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve upon discontinuing the use of Telmikind-AM Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

For dizziness, you can try taking Telmikind-AM Tablet at night before going to bed, after consulting your doctor regarding the change in medication timings. You may find it helpful to take this medicine with or after meals to reduce the chance of nausea and diarrhoea.

Telmikind-AM Tablet contains two active ingredients:

Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient belongs to a class of medicines known as angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by blocking the binding of a hormone called angiotensin II to specific receptors in various tissues of your body. Blocking this hormone has two primary effects: it dilates the blood vessels and decreases the production of aldosterone, a hormone that causes salt and water retention in your body.
Amlodipine (5 mg): Classified as a calcium channel blocker, amlodipine works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells in your body, reducing peripheral vascular resistance. By doing so, it helps relax and widen your blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more freely.

Pregnancy

Telmikind-AM Tablet is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding
