Apixator 2.5 Tablet 10

Apixator 2.5 Tablet is used to prevent and treat blood clot formation in adults with heart conditions or after major orthopaedic surgery.

Uses of Apixator 2.5 Tablet are:

• Stroke & Clot Prevention: Prevents strokes and systemic blood clots in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
• DVT and PE Prevention: Reduces the risk of blood clots forming in the leg veins (deep vein thrombosis) or lung arteries (pulmonary embolism) following hip or knee surgery.
• Blood Clot Treatment: Treats existing deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism to prevent recurrent clots.

• The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

• Chewing, crushing or breaking the tablet should be avoided.

• Never take more than your doctor has recommended.

• Always remember, you should not stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Apixator 2.5 Tablet is taken orally.

Apixator 2.5 Tablet contains apixaban (2.5 mg), which exerts its effect on the body as follows:

• Inhibits factor Xa: Apixaban works by selectively and reversibly blocking an element called factor Xa in your body. This element plays a critical role in the formation of blood clots in your body.

• Decreases thrombin generation and thrombus development: By inhibiting factor Xa, apixaban effectively reduces thrombin generation and the development of blood clots.

• Indirectly inhibits platelet aggregation: While apixaban does not directly affect platelet aggregation, it indirectly inhibits platelet aggregation induced by thrombin. This further helps in preventing the formation of blood clots.

• Keep Apixator 2.5 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Store it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always keep the Tablet in its original packaging until it's time for you to take it.

• Keep Apixator 2.5 Tablet out of reach of children.

• Remember to use this medicine before its expiry date.

• Since Apixator 2.5 Tablet is used for managing blood clot conditions, try incorporating more fibres into your diet to promote healthy circulation. Foods high in fibre include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

• Be mindful of your physical activity. Regular low-intensity exercise such as walking can help improve circulation and reduce the risk of blood clots. However, remember to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
