Eliquis 2.5 Tablet is used for specific clot-prevention indications: after hip or knee replacement, for extended prevention of recurrent DVT or PE after initial anticoagulant treatment, and for stroke prevention in selected people with non-valvular atrial fibrillation who meet dose-reduction criteria.
It contains apixaban, a blood-thinning medicine (anticoagulant). It works by blocking factor Xa, which reduces the formation of harmful clots.
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food. Do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping suddenly raises the risk of a dangerous clot.
Take care to reduce bleeding, and tell any doctor or dentist you take it before any procedure. Tell your doctor about any bleeding problems or liver or kidney disease before use, and report serious or unusual bleeding. It is not suitable in pregnancy.
