Tenolol AM 50 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure and stable angina (chest pain), especially in people who have both raised blood pressure and a fast heart rate.
It contains amlodipine and atenolol, which belong to the calcium channel blocker and beta-blocker groups of medicines. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, while atenolol slows the heart rate and reduces its workload. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in heart rate or chest pain.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active as advised, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can help support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heart rate, or diabetes, or are taking other medicines. Mild ankle swelling is common; tell your doctor if it becomes severe.
