Amlovas-AT Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when a single drug is not sufficient. Lowering blood pressure helps lower the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes.
It combines amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, and atenolol, a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces the heart's workload. Take it as prescribed with water, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as doing so can cause a rapid increase in blood pressure or chest pain.
Healthy habits support blood pressure management. These include reducing dietary salt, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol intake as recommended by your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have slow heart rate, asthma, diabetes, heart failure, or kidney problems. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Check with your doctor before taking other prescription or non-prescription medicines.
