Amlodac AT Tablet is used to manage essential hypertension (chronic high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain), chronic stable angina (chest pain during physical activity or stress), and vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's angina), which results from artery spasms in the heart.

• Swallow the tablet whole with some water. Chewing, crushing, or breaking the tablet should be avoided.

• This medicine can be taken before or after meals.

• Do not exceed the recommended dosage without consulting your doctor first.

• If you decide to stop using this medicine, it should be done only after speaking to your doctor.

Amlodac AT Tablet contains two active ingredients which work together to bring down high blood pressure. Here's how they work:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It blocks the movement of calcium into the heart and blood vessel walls, which relaxes these vessels, reducing their resistance and lowering blood pressure. It also widens coronary and systemic arteries, improving oxygen delivery to the heart muscle and preventing spasms.

• Atenolol (50 mg): This ingredient is a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It works by preferentially blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors, mainly found in the heart and kidney. This action slows down the heart rate, reduces the force with which heart muscle contracts and decreases cardiac output. This lowers both blood pressure and the amount of oxygen the heart needs to function.
