Amcard-AT Tablet is used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. It is also effective for long-term management of angina pectoris.

Uses of Amcard-At Tablet are:

• Hypertension: Helps lower and control high blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
• Angina Pectoris: Provides long-term management of chest pain caused by angina.

Here's how you should take Amcard-AT Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Do not chew, crush or break the tablet.

• Take the prescribed dosgae only.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Try to take your medicine at the same time each day for optimal blood pressure control.

Amcard-AT Tablet is taken orally.

Amcard-AT Tablet is a combination of two active components:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient is a calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. This action leads to vasodilation and reduction of peripheral vascular resistance, which ultimately helps in lowering blood pressure.

• Atenolol (50 mg): Atenolol is a beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that works by blocking catecholamines like epinephrine from binding with these receptors located primarily in the heart. This inhibition reduces myocardial contractility, heart rate, and cardiac output thereby reducing the workload on the heart and lowering blood pressure. At higher doses, atenolol also blocks beta-2 receptors in bronchial and vascular smooth muscle.

• Keep Amcard-AT Tablet at a temperature below 30°C.

• Protect the medicine from moisture and light.

• Store in a dry place.

• Keep it out of reach of children.

• Always use this medicine before the expiry date printed on the pack.

• If you're taking Amcard-AT Tablet for high blood pressure, try to limit your salt intake. Too much salt can raise your blood pressure.

• Regular physical activity can also help lower your blood pressure. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every week. But remember, always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regime.
