Telminorm AM 40/5 Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by a single medicine. It helps lower the risk of long-term complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage by maintaining steady blood pressure control throughout the day.
It is a combination medicine containing telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. Take it with or without food as prescribed, ideally as prescribed. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Stopping the medicine suddenly may cause your blood pressure to rise again.
Healthy lifestyle changes form an important part of managing high blood pressure. These include regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, reducing salt and saturated fat in your diet, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, heart problems, or low blood pressure. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you notice swelling in your ankles or significant dizziness. Regular check-ups may be needed to monitor your blood pressure and kidney function.
