Composition

Amlodipine (5 Mg) + Telmisartan (40 Mg)

Eritel-AM Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, combined to control blood pressure more effectively.

Take it as prescribed, with or without food, and swallow it whole.

Reducing salt intake, maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.

Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or heart failure before starting, and if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy. Report swelling of the ankles, feet or face, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or persistent dizziness.

Uses of Eritel-AM Tablet are:

Blood Pressure Control: Manages high blood pressure or hypertension.

Here are the instructions to follow while taking Eritel-AM Tablet:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Take it at the same time each day for the best results.
It can be taken with or without food.
Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.

Eritel-AM Tablet is taken orally.

Eritel-AM Tablet may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Eritel-AM Tablet:

Neurological: Headache, dizziness and tiredness (fatigue). Rising slowly from sitting or lying down can help reduce dizziness.
Digestive: Feeling sick (nausea) and stomach pain.
Circulatory: Swelling of the ankles (peripheral oedema).
Skin: Flushing, where the skin turns red and feels warm, often on the face and neck.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve upon discontinuing the use of Eritel-AM Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Nausea: Try taking Eritel-AM Tablet with meals to lessen this effect.

Eritel-AM Tablet contains two active ingredients:

Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient selectively prevents angiotensin II from binding to the AT1 receptors in various tissues including vascular smooth muscle and adrenal gland. As a result of this inhibition, the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II are reduced, leading to a decrease in blood pressure levels. Notably, Telmisartan does not inhibit ACE (kinase II), which breaks down bradykinin.
Amlodipine (5 mg): This component functions by blocking the entry of calcium ions into the vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac muscle cells. The blockage causes blood vessels to relax, leading to a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance and hence lowering blood pressure. Additionally, it dilates coronary arteries, improving the supply of blood to the heart muscle.

Pregnancy

Eritel-AM Tablet is contraindicated during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, it is vital to discuss this with your doctor.

Breastfeeding

Consult your doctor before taking Eritel-AM Tablet if you are breastfeeding. They will be able to guide you regarding the potential risks and benefits.

Alcohol
