Tacroz Ointment 10gm

Tacroz Ointment 10gm is used for managing moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis in adults. It relieves itching, redness, swelling, and dryness, and is effective for those who haven’t responded well to conventional treatments. It helps reduce skin cracking and irritation.

Here's how to apply Tacroz Ointment 10gm correctly:

• Ensure that the ointment area is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the ointment gently to the affected skin area as prescribed by your doctor.

• Rub the ointment gently and completely on the skin until it is fully absorbed.

• Continue applying as advised by your doctor until signs of atopic dermatitis resolve.

• If symptoms persist beyond 6 weeks or worsen, consult your doctor immediately.

Tacroz Ointment 10gm is applied topically.

Tacroz Ointment 10gm contains tacrolimus (0.03%), which acts on the body as follows:

• Binding to FKBP-12: Tacrolimus first binds with an intracellular protein named FKBP-12.

• Inhibition of Calcineurin: The complex formed by tacrolimus and FKBP-12 inhibits calcineurin, an enzyme that relies on calcium and calmodulin.

• Prevention of NFAT Dephosphorylation: By inhibiting calcineurin, tacrolimus prevents dephosphorylation and translocation of NFAT (Nuclear Factor of Activated T-cells), a key component in the production of inflammatory cytokines.

• Store Tacroz Ointment 10gm at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Do not be exposed to moisture or excessively dry conditions.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Regularly moisturise your skin, as dryness can intensify itching and inflammation associated with atopic dermatitis.

• Avoid food allergens known to trigger or worsen your eczema symptoms; common ones include dairy products, eggs, nuts and seeds, wheat and gluten.
