Pantop LS Capsule is used for short-term relief from symptoms of acid reflux and GERD. It helps heal inflammation of the food pipe, known as esophagitis and prevents stomach ulcers that may occur due to long-term use of painkillers such as NSAIDs. This capsule is also prescribed for functional dyspepsia and conditions like Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, where excess stomach acid is produced.

To get the most benefit from Pantop LS Capsule, follow these instructions:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the capsule.

• The medicine is best taken before a meal, preferably in the morning.

Pantop LS Capsule contains two active ingredients:

• Levosulpiride (75 mg): As a prokinetic agent, levosulpiride works by increasing lower oesophagal sphincter pressure which helps prevent acid reflux. It also accelerates stomach emptying and enhances gut motility. Furthermore, it reduces visceral hypersensitivity which can help relieve abdominal pain or discomfort.

• Pantoprazole (40 mg): Classified as a proton pump inhibitor, pantoprazole acts by blocking the gastric acid pump in stomach parietal cells. This inhibits both basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. By doing so, it raises intragastric pH which promotes ulcer healing.

Together, these actions help manage GERD symptoms, promote mucosal healing in the digestive tract, and control dyspeptic symptoms.
