Olficef Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections.

Uses of Olficef Tablet are:

• Respiratory Infections: Treats chest and airway infections such as bronchitis.
• Urinary Infections: Treats urinary tract infections.
• Other Infections: Treats certain other bacterial infections.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Olficef Tablet 10 consists of two active ingredients:

• Cefixime (200 mg): It works by interrupting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It attaches to specific proteins within the bacterial cell wall, preventing the linkage of peptidoglycan chains, which are crucial for the strength and rigidity of the bacterial cell wall. This weakens the cell wall, causing it to break.
• Ofloxacin (200 mg): A part of the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics, it works by impeding enzymes necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. By inhibiting these enzymes, known as DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, it disrupts DNA synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

This combination provides a wide range of effectiveness against numerous gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
