Nitro-G 2.6 Tablet is a medicine used to manage and help prevent chest pain (angina) caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. It is used as a long-term preventive treatment to lower how often angina episodes occur.
Nitro-G 2.6 Tablet contains nitroglycerin in a controlled-release form. It is usually taken at the same times each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it, as this can release the medicine too quickly.
Healthy lifestyle changes support this medicine in managing angina. These include regular moderate exercise (as advised by your doctor), eating a balanced heart-healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, and limiting alcohol. Reducing physical or emotional stress can also help reduce angina episodes.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure, severe anaemia, recent head injury, or are taking other medicines. Do not use this medicine if you are taking medicines for erectile dysfunction (such as PDE5 inhibitors), as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Seek emergency medical help if chest pain lasts more than 15 minutes after taking your medicine.
