Nitro-G 2.6 Tablet is used to help prevent the chest pain of angina caused by reduced blood flow to the heart, reducing how often attacks occur. It is a long-term preventive treatment.
It contains nitroglycerin in a controlled-release form. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, which improves blood flow to the heart and eases its workload.
Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same times each day, without crushing or chewing it, as this could release the medicine too quickly.
Do not take it with medicines for erectile dysfunction (PDE5 inhibitors), as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your doctor about any low blood pressure or severe anaemia. Seek emergency help if chest pain lasts more than 15 minutes.
