Telkonol Am Tablet 10

• Managing hypertension or high blood pressure

• Reducing the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and heart attacks

• Alleviating symptoms of chronic stable angina, a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart

• Controlling vasospastic angina, also known as Prinzmetal's or Variant Angina, a rare form of angina where chest pain occurs at rest.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew it.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take your medicine at the same time every day to maintain its effect on your body.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Remember, do not stop taking this medicine abruptly. Always consult your doctor first.

Telkonol-AM Tablet is taken orally.

Telkonol-AM Tablet consists of the following two components:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This is a calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscles and cardiac muscles. This process results in vasodilation, which means widening of blood vessels, and reduction of peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. In cases of vasospastic angina, it helps increase oxygen delivery to the heart muscles.

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that works by selectively preventing the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in vascular smooth muscles and adrenal gland. This action inhibits vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels), decreases aldosterone secretion (a hormone that increases blood pressure), reduces sodium reabsorption and lowers blood pressure overall. Additionally, telmisartan improves insulin sensitivity and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

• Store Telkonol-AM Tablet in a cool and dry place.

• Protect the medicine from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Use it before the expiry date mentioned on the product packaging.

• If you're prescribed Telkonol-AM Tablet for hypertension, consider adopting a low-sodium diet. Too much salt can raise your blood pressure, worsening your condition.

• Regular exercise like walking or jogging can also be beneficial. It helps reduce stress levels, which in turn can help manage high blood pressure. Always remember to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
