Alnitro-2.6 Tablet is primarily used to manage and prevent angina pectoris, a condition of chest pain, in patients with coronary artery disease. It contains a nitrate, and works by relaxing and widening blood vessels to improve blood flow to the heart. It also contains glyceryl trinitrate (nitroglycerin).
This medicine relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessels, widening them and reducing the heart's workload, which improves blood flow to the heart muscle and relieves or prevents the chest pain of angina.
Take this extended-release tablet at the same time each day, swallowed whole with water, exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Rise slowly from sitting or lying down, as this medicine can cause a drop in blood pressure that may make you feel lightheaded. Avoid alcohol, which can worsen this effect, and tell your doctor if you take medicines for erectile dysfunction, as combining them can be dangerous.
