Nintena 150 Capsule is used to slow the worsening of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other long-term scarring lung diseases. It is a single-ingredient tyrosine kinase inhibitor containing nintedanib.
It cannot reverse existing lung scarring, but it can help preserve breathing function for longer. Take it with food and swallow the capsule whole, without crushing or chewing, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is started by a specialist and needs regular monitoring.
Avoiding smoking, staying as active as advised, drinking enough fluids to prevent dehydration from loose motions, and attending pulmonary rehabilitation if recommended support your lung health.
This medicine can harm an unborn baby, so reliable contraception is essential and it must not be used in pregnancy. Before starting, tell your doctor about any liver problems or bleeding disorders, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Attend liver blood tests and report diarrhoea early so it can be managed. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
