Nintena 150 Capsule is used to slow the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other chronic fibrosing lung diseases. While it cannot reverse existing lung scarring, it helps slow down the stiffening of the lungs, which may help preserve breathing function for longer.
It contains nintedanib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Take it with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset and diarrhoea. Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush or chew it. This is a specialist-initiated medicine and requires regular monitoring.
Regular follow-up appointments and blood tests to check liver function are an essential part of safe treatment. Tell your specialist about any diarrhoea early, as staying well hydrated and dose adjustment are important in managing it.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver problems, bleeding disorders, or planned surgery, and about all other medicines. This medicine can harm an unborn baby, so effective contraception is essential. Tell your doctor straight away if you could be pregnant. It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
