Idofnib-150 Capsule is used for the following:

• Treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

• Managing chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases

• Slowing down progressive lung scarring

• Treating systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease

• Reducing decline in lung function

• Managing fibrotic lung disorders

• Slowing disease progression in lung scarring conditions

• Inhibiting development of lung scar tissue

• Controlling autoimmune-related lung scarring

Follow these instructions while taking Idofnib-150 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not break, crush, or chew the capsule.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment.

Idofnib-150 Capsule is taken orally.

Idofnib-150 Capsule contains nintedanib (150 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Tyrosine kinase inhibition: Nintedanib blocks specific enzymes called tyrosine kinases that are involved in promoting the development of scar tissue in the lungs.

• Fibroblast growth suppression: It reduces the activity of cells called fibroblasts that produce excessive collagen and other proteins that contribute to lung scarring.

• Anti-inflammatory action: The medicine helps decrease inflammation in the lungs, which can contribute to the scarring process in fibrotic lung diseases.

• Multiple pathway blockade: Nintedanib specifically targets signalling pathways including PDGF, FGF, VEGF, and TGF-beta, which are key contributors to the development of lung fibrosis.

• Disease progression reduction: By inhibiting these various mechanisms, the medicine slows down the worsening of lung function and disease progression in people with fibrotic lung disorders.

• Store Idofnib-150 Capsule in its original package at room temperature (below 25°C).

• Keep the medicine in a dry place to protect from moisture.

• Store away from direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Quit smoking completely: Smoking can worsen lung scarring (fibrosis) and may reduce how well nintedanib works in your body. Quitting smoking helps slow down the progression of pulmonary fibrosis.

• Stay physically active: Regular, gentle exercise like walking or swimming can help maintain your lung function and overall strength when you have interstitial lung disease.
