Metrogyl O Tablet 10

Metrogyl O Tablet is used to manage the several health conditions, including:

• Urinary tract infections: Manages bacterial infections causing discomfort and frequent urination.
• Peritonitis: Manages peritonitis, which is the inflammation of the lining of the abdomen due to bacterial infection.
• Eye and ear infections: Relieves symptoms like redness, itching, discharge, and pain.
• Skin and soft tissue infections: Manages cellulitis, abscesses, and infected wounds.
• Sexually transmitted infections: Manages gonorrhoea and chlamydia.
• Respiratory infections: Manages bronchitis and pneumonia.
• Vaginal infections: Manages bacterial vaginosis that causes itching, discharge, and discomfort.
• Protozoan infections: Manages amoebiasis and giardiasis which cause diarrhoea.
• Intra-abdominal infections: Manages bacterial invasion within the abdominal cavity.
• Infections during surgical procedures: Manages postoperative or prophylactic.
• Pelvic infections: This tablet is also effective in treating pelvic infections.
• Foot ulcers in individuals with diabetes: This tablet can also be used to combat infections associated with these foot ulcers in diabetic patients.
• Lung abscesses: It can also help treat lung abscesses (pus within the lung tissue).
• Gynaecological infections: This tablet can also be used to manage gynaecological infections caused by susceptible bacteria and protozoa.
• Parasitic Infections: It is useful in treating parasitic infections caused by parasites that enter the body through contaminated food or water. These infections can lead to symptoms like diarrhoea and stomach pain.

• Metrogyl O Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow it with water, preferably after food, to prevent nausea.
• Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• It would be best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results.

Metrogyl O Tablet is taken orally.

The Metrogyl O Tablet contains the following components:

• Metronidazole (500 mg): It is an antimicrobial agent that undergoes chemical changes inside the bacterial and protozoa cells that generate some compounds. These compounds interfere with DNA replication and cause damage to the genetic material of the microorganisms. As a result, ornidazole is effective against bacteria and protozoa. 
• Ofloxacin (200 mg): It is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. This enzyme is essential for DNA replication and repair. By interfering with this process, ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth. This makes it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. 

• Store the Metrogyl O Tablet at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Metrogyl O Tablets away from children.
• Do not use the Metrogyl O Tablet after the expiry date has passed.

• The Metrogyl O tablets are indicated for diarrhoea caused by mixed bacteria infections. Inform the doctor if the diarrhoea and its symptoms do not reduce after taking it for two days. 
• If you feel dizzy and drowsy, do not indulge in activities that require focus. 
• Do inform the doctor if you experience pain in joints, tingling sensation and feel numb
