Composition

Metronidazole (500 Mg) + Ofloxacin (200 Mg)

Metrogyl O Tablet is used to treat mixed bacterial and parasitic infections of the gut, urinary and genital tracts, and the skin and mouth, and it is used around some surgery to prevent or treat infection.

It contains metronidazole, which acts against certain bacteria and parasites, and ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that acts against a range of bacteria.

Take it as prescribed, and complete the full course. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for a couple of days after, as the combination can cause flushing, headache and sickness.

Tell your doctor about any liver, nerve or tendon problems before use. Report numbness or tingling, tendon pain, or a fast or irregular heartbeat.

Uses of Metrogyl O Tablet are:

Gut and Abdominal Infections: Treats mixed bacterial and parasitic gut infections.
Urinary and Genital Infections: Treats urinary, vaginal and other genital infections.
Around Surgery: Helps prevent and treat infection with surgical procedures.

Metrogyl O Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow it with water, preferably after food, to prevent nausea.
Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results.

Metrogyl O Tablet is taken orally.

The Metrogyl O Tablet contains the following components:

Metronidazole (500 mg): It is an antimicrobial agent that undergoes chemical changes inside the bacterial and protozoa cells that generate some compounds. These compounds interfere with DNA replication and cause damage to the genetic material of the microorganisms. As a result, ornidazole is effective against bacteria and protozoa.
Ofloxacin (200 mg): It is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. This enzyme is essential for DNA replication and repair. By interfering with this process, ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth. This makes it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria.

Pregnancy

Daily Dose

The recommended daily dose of Metrogyl O Tablets should be strictly per the doctor's prescription. Over Dose

If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Metogyl O Tablet by accident, it is essential to take the patient to the nearest doctor. The overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, impaired consciousness, drowsiness and convulsions in seizures.

If you feel dizzy and drowsy, do not indulge in activities that require focus.
