Metrogyl O Tablet 10

Metrogyl O Tablet is used to treat a wide range of infections, including urinary tract infections, peritonitis (inflammation of the abdominal lining), and infections of the eyes and ears. It also manages skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea and chlamydia, and respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and pneumonia. This tablet is also useful for treating vaginal infections like bacterial vaginosis, gastrointestinal infections such as amoebiasis, and intra-abdominal infections. Additionally, it is prescribed to prevent or treat infections during surgical procedures and to manage conditions like pelvic infections and foot ulcers in diabetic patients.

• Metrogyl O Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow it with water, preferably after food, to prevent nausea.
• Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• It would be best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results.

Metrogyl O Tablet is taken orally.

The Metrogyl O Tablet contains the following components:

• Metronidazole (500 mg): It is an antimicrobial agent that undergoes chemical changes inside the bacterial and protozoa cells that generate some compounds. These compounds interfere with DNA replication and cause damage to the genetic material of the microorganisms. As a result, ornidazole is effective against bacteria and protozoa. 
• Ofloxacin (200 mg): It is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. This enzyme is essential for DNA replication and repair. By interfering with this process, ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth. This makes it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. 

• Store the Metrogyl O Tablet at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Metrogyl O Tablets away from children.
• Do not use the Metrogyl O Tablet after the expiry date has passed.

• The Metrogyl O tablets are indicated for diarrhoea caused by mixed bacteria infections. Inform the doctor if the diarrhoea and its symptoms do not reduce after taking it for two days. 
• If you feel dizzy and drowsy, do not indulge in activities that require focus. 
• Do inform the doctor if you experience pain in joints, tingling sensation and feel numb
