CompositionMetagard CR-60 Tablet is used to manage angina pectoris, a type of chest pain caused by coronary artery disease. It is a single-ingredient anti-anginal medicine containing trimetazidine.
It helps the heart muscle use oxygen more efficiently, which reduces how often and how severe angina attacks are. Take the controlled-release tablet with food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, swallowing it whole without crushing or chewing.
Cut down on salt, fried food and ghee, avoid smoking and stay active within the limits your doctor advises. Rest when you feel chest discomfort during exertion.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or a movement disorder such as Parkinson's disease, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, as this medicine can occasionally cause or worsen tremor and unusual movements. Report any new or worsening chest pain despite treatment. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
