Metagard Cr 60 Tablet 10

Metagard CR-60 Tablet is used to treat angina pectoris (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart). It improves how the heart uses oxygen, helping reduce the frequency and severity of angina attacks and enhancing exercise tolerance in adults with stable coronary artery disease.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew this medicine as it limits its effectiveness.

• You can take this medication with or without food, as per your comfort.

• Remember not to exceed the recommended dose.

Metagard CR-60 Tablet is taken orally.

Metagard CR-60 Tablet contains trimetazidine (60 mg) and works in your body as follows:

• Inhibits Long-Chain 3-Ketoacyl Coenzyme A Thiolase: Trimetazidine works by inhibiting an enzyme called long-chain 3-ketoacyl coenzyme A thiolase. This enzyme is involved in fatty acid oxidation, which is the process where fatty acids are broken down in your body for energy.

• Shifts Cardiac Energy Metabolism: By inhibiting this enzyme, trimetazidine shifts the energy metabolism in your heart from fatty acid oxidation to glucose oxidation. Glucose oxidation uses less oxygen than fatty acid oxidation, which helps to reduce the demand for oxygen in your heart.

• Reduces Myocardial Oxygen Demand: By shifting the cardiac energy metabolism, trimetazidine reduces the demand for oxygen in your heart. This helps to improve the function of your heart and reduces the frequency and severity of angina attacks.

• Store Metagard CR-60 Tablet at room temperature.

• Choose a dry place, away from light and moisture, to protect the tablet.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Since Metagard CR-60 Tablet is used to manage angina pectoris, consider incorporating low-fat meals into your diet. High-fat foods can increase your cholesterol level, which may worsen coronary artery disease.

• Regular exercise is beneficial, but consult your doctor before starting any vigorous workout routine. Overexertion could potentially trigger an angina attack.
