Carvidon-OD Tablet is used to help prevent angina attacks (chest pain caused by the heart not getting enough blood) in adults with coronary artery disease. It can be used alongside other heart medicines as prescribed by your doctor.
It contains trimetazidine in a modified-release form that provides long-lasting protection. Swallow the tablet whole, as prescribed, and take it regularly. It is for prevention and cannot stop an acute angina attack that is already happening.
A heart-healthy lifestyle supports this medicine. Quitting smoking, eating a low-fat diet, staying active within the limits your doctor advises, and keeping to a healthy weight all help reduce the strain on your heart.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems or symptoms of Parkinson's disease or movement disorders before starting, as trimetazidine can rarely affect movement. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
