Lumerax Dry Syrup is used in children to treat uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, including in areas where the parasite resists older antimalarials.
It combines two antimalarials, artemether and lumefantrine, which work together to clear the malaria parasites from the blood.
Reconstitute and give the syrup as prescribed, ideally with food or milk, as some fat helps the medicine absorb. Complete the full course.
Tell the doctor about any heart-rhythm problems or liver problems before use. Report a fast or irregular heartbeat, or if vomiting stops the child keeping the medicine down.
