Faronem ER Tablet is used to treat moderate to severe bacterial infections that have not responded well to routine antibiotics. It helps clear the infection and relieve associated symptoms such as fever, pain and inflammation.
It contains faropenem, an antibiotic from the carbapenem group. This extended-release tablet is commonly prescribed for infections of the lungs, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues and reproductive organs. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, and swallow it whole. Complete the full course even if you feel better before it is finished, as stopping early can allow the infection to return.
Taking antibiotics correctly helps prevent bacterial resistance developing. Drink plenty of fluids during treatment and eat light, nutritious meals to support recovery.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as the dose may need to be adjusted. Inform your doctor about any allergies to antibiotics, particularly penicillins. Contact your doctor promptly if you notice a skin rash, difficulty breathing, watery or bloody stools, or severe stomach discomfort while on treatment.
