Exfaro 300 Tablet is used for managing community-acquired pneumonia, acute pyelonephritis, complicated urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections. It is also effective in treating acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

Here are the instructions to follow while taking Exfaro 300 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet as it can affect how the medicine works.

• Try to take your medicine at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your blood.

• In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's nearly time for your next dose.

• Never take two doses together to make up for a missed one.

Exfaro 300 Tablet contains faropenem (300 mg). Here's how it works:

• Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: Faropenem disrupts the creation of the bacterial cell wall by blocking penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). These are essential for making peptidoglycan, a key component of the bacterial cell wall.

• Broad Spectrum Activity: Faropenem acts against a wide range of bacteria including gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria.

• Resistance to Beta-lactamases: Faropenem remains effective even against many resistant bacteria that produce beta-lactamases which often make antibiotics less effective.

Remember though, faropenem has limited activity against specific bacteria like Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin-resistant staphylococci, and enterococci.
