Atorlip ASP 10 Capsule 10 is used in people with coronary heart disease or diabetes to lower cholesterol and help prevent heart attacks and strokes, and to slow the build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries.

Uses of Atorlip ASP 10 Capsule 10 are:

• Heart Attack Prevention: Helps reduce the risk of heart attacks in people with coronary heart disease or diabetes.
• Cholesterol Control: Helps lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides and raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol.
• Stroke Prevention: Helps prevent strokes and slow the progression of fatty build-up in the arteries (atherosclerosis).

• Swallow one capsule whole with a glass of water.
• Avoid crushing or chewing it.
• You can take it at any time of the day, either on an empty stomach or after meals.

Atorlip Asp 10 Capsule 10 combines two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This ingredient works by selectively inhibiting an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. This enzyme is responsible for transforming HMG-CoA into mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. With atorvastatin blocking this process, there is a reduction in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, along with a slight increase in HDL cholesterol levels. The overall effect reduces the risk of plaque formation and progression within your blood vessels.
• Aspirin (75 mg): Aspirin halts an enzyme known as cyclooxygenase (COX), which usually aids in producing thromboxane A2. Thromboxane A2 encourages blood clotting and narrows blood vessels. By blocking COX, aspirin prevents blood clots that could potentially block arteries and cause heart attacks or strokes.
