Tenepla Tablet is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise. Good control helps reduce the risk of long-term complications such as kidney, nerve and eye damage. It is not for use in type 1 diabetes.
It contains teneligliptin, which belongs to a group of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors. It helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduces the glucose made by the liver, with a low risk of causing low blood sugar on its own. Take it daily at the same time each day, with or without food.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular activity, keeping to a healthy weight and routine blood sugar monitoring support better control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any pancreas or heart problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report severe or ongoing stomach pain, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or swelling.
