Tenepla Tablet is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise. It contains teneligliptin, which belongs to a group of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors that help the body release more insulin after meals. It is not used in type 1 diabetes.
This tablet is taken as prescribed, with or without food, at the same time each day. Take it as prescribed and continue even if your blood sugar readings improve, as good long-term control helps reduce the risk of complications such as kidney, nerve and eye damage.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight support better blood sugar control alongside this medicine. Routine blood sugar monitoring, as advised by your doctor, helps track how well the treatment is working.
Tell your doctor about any pancreas or heart problems, or other medicines you take, before starting this tablet. Report severe or ongoing stomach pain, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or swelling, to your doctor promptly.
