Zita-Met Plus Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes in adults.

• Enhancing blood sugar control in conjunction with diet and exercise.

• Enhancing insulin sensitivity.

• Helping patients who are already taking metformin and teneligliptin separately by combining these two medicines into one tablet.

Here's how to take Zita-Met Plus Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet as a whole with water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine regularly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Remember not to exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Don't stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Zita-Met Plus Tablet is taken orally.

Zita-Met Plus Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Teneligliptin (20 mg): As a DPP-4 inhibitor, teneligliptin slows down the inactivation of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP. This action stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin when blood glucose levels are high and reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver. This process does not lead to low blood sugar.

• Metformin (500 mg): This ingredient reduces glucose production by the liver, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing glucose uptake and use. All these actions are enabled through the activation of AMP-activated protein kinase, a key factor in regulating cellular energy.

The complementary mechanisms of metformin and teneligliptin provide improved control over blood sugar levels compared to when either medicine is used alone.
