Tenglyn M 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Combination therapy for better blood sugar control

Follow these instructions while taking Tenglyn M 500 Tablet:

Tenglyn M 500 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Teneligliptin (20 mg): This is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. DPP-4 is an enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By inhibiting DPP-4, teneligliptin prolongs the activity of these incretin hormones, leading to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.

• Metformin Hydrochloride (500 mg): As a biguanide class anti-diabetic drug, metformin works by reducing glucose production in the liver and decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose. It also improves insulin sensitivity by increasing glucose uptake and utilisation in peripheral tissues.
